2.EYELINER WASN’T ALWAYS USED FOR AESTHETIC PURPOSES⁠

The Egyptians used it to ward off evil spirits and protect their eyes from the harmful rays of the sun. It wasn’t until the 1920’s when Tutankhamun’s tomb was discovered that eyeliner came to the western world. ⁠ ⁠

3.IT’S ALL ABOUT THE OPTICAL ILLUSION⁠

Eyeliner can be used to change the appearance of your eyes. It is an art to apply it properly! Lining the whole eye with dark eyeliner will make your eyes look smaller. However, just outlining the outer edge will make your eyes appear bigger. If you want your eyes to appear even bigger and more 'awake", line the under eye with a nude or white coloured pencil!⁠ ⁠

4.IT WAS USED FOR LEGS TOO⁠

During the Second World War, eyeliner was used to fake a seam down the back of the leg to mimic the look of stockings when there was a shortage in materials. ⁠

⁠5.OUR EYES ARE NOT SYMMETRICAL⁠

Do you know that we all have one eye that’s slightly smaller than the other? Yep, you are not alone! ⁠ It’s perfectly normal as our faces are not symmetrical. ⁠ ⁠
